The Rise of East Coast Dyes Lacrosse Company: A Story of Passion and Innovation

Lacrosse, a sport rich in history and tradition, has witnessed numerous innovations over the years that have elevated the game to new heights. One such innovation that has gained widespread recognition is the creation of East Coast Dyes (ECD) Lacrosse. Founded by the passionate and determined Greg Kenneally, ECD Lacrosse has not only transformed the way lacrosse sticks are strung and customized but has also become a beacon of inspiration for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Greg Kenneally's journey into the world of lacrosse customization and innovation began during his senior year at Elizabethtown College. As the team's dedicated "stick doctor," Greg possessed an innate talent for dyeing and stringing lacrosse sticks. Recognizing the potential to turn his passion into a full-fledged business, Greg embarked on a path that would ultimately redefine the art of lacrosse equipment customization.

Upon graduating from college, Greg wasted no time and started dyeing and stringing sticks for local customers. His dedication and craftsmanship quickly garnered attention, and he began sharing his work on platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter. Greg's commitment to quality and innovation caught the eyes of lacrosse enthusiasts far and wide, establishing the foundation for what would soon become ECD Lacrosse.

In 2011, Greg's determination led him to address another lacrosse equipment challenge – the quality of mesh available in the market. Unhappy with the existing options, Greg set out to create a superior wax mesh. Months of rigorous research and experimentation culminated in the birth of East Coast Mesh, marking the official inception of East Coast Dyes Lacrosse. The company's humble beginnings saw its roots firmly planted in the basement of Greg's home, where the journey towards excellence truly commenced.

Greg's journey was nothing short of a balancing act, as he juggled graduate school night classes at Towson University and a full-time position at his father's accounting firm while building ECD Lacrosse. Late nights spent fulfilling orders until the wee hours of the morning became a testament to his unwavering commitment and tireless work ethic.

By May 2012, ECD Lacrosse was gaining momentum, and Greg's twin brother, Mike, joined forces with him. As Mike focused on crafting the innovative mesh, Greg managed the operations, and together, they embarked on a venture that transcended their initial expectations. The collaboration didn't stop there, as friends Dave and Ryan soon joined the Kenneally Brothers to further solidify ECD Lacrosse's growing team.

With the company's expansion came the need for a dedicated space. ECD Lacrosse bid farewell to Greg's house in May 2013 and set up shop in a 2,000 square foot facility in Lutherville, Maryland. This move marked the turning point as more employees joined the ranks, propelling the company forward.

ECD's dedication to innovation was mirrored in their continuous growth. A pivotal moment arrived in June 2013, when ECD once again outgrew its space and relocated to a 9,000 square foot facility near Baltimore, MD. The company's steady rise was underscored by the global presence of East Coast Mesh, as retailers across the world embraced their revolutionary product.

The narrative of ECD Lacrosse's evolution reached another milestone around the spring of 2016. Driven by an insatiable desire to push boundaries, the company expanded into the neighboring warehouse, boosting their headquarters to an impressive 21,000 square feet. This expansion included a custom turf area for product testing and player training, exemplifying ECD's commitment to excellence on every front.

The success story of ECD Lacrosse serves as an embodiment of the mantra "Hard Work Pays Off." What Greg Kenneally initiated from his college bedroom has blossomed into a thriving enterprise with over 20 employees. The journey was a testament to relentless dedication, innovation, and the invaluable support of loyal fans. ECD Lacrosse's impact reverberates across the lacrosse industry, collaborating with major retailers and leaving an indelible mark on the sport.

Greg and Mike Kenneally's vision and unwavering dedication have propelled ECD Lacrosse to the forefront of lacrosse equipment customization and innovation. Their remarkable journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs and enthusiasts alike, underscoring the profound impact that passion, hard work, and innovation can have on transforming a dream into a resounding reality. As ECD Lacrosse continues to grow and evolve, it remains a shining example of the enduring spirit that drives individuals to reshape industries and leave an enduring legacy.
